Hey Brian and Scott. First off I’d like to thank you for bringing back The Final Score. I was saddened when ELR died and I would no longer get to listen to you Frogpants guys discuss games other then Warcraft (which I enjoy listening to as well). Thanks to you guys and your resurrection voodoo, The Final Score rose from the grave and is now a part of my favorite podcasts among the likes of The Instance, TIPOAA (The Incredible Podcast…), and The Joystiq Podcast.
I like these podcasts because they get me excited about playing games and keep me informed on whats coming out, what to look forward to, and what to stay away from. Episode 04 was great with your experiences playing Dawn of War 2, the Split/Second demo, and your throwback to Marble Madness. But where it got sour for me, to the point where I almost stopped listening, was your segment on whats new. I understand you guys were probably just joking around and some of your comments in that segment were educated and just. But what I couldn’t not tolerate were your comments “Screw those guys, doesn’t sound fun” regarding Autobahn Polizei, “Good luck with your stupid horror game” for Dementium II, and finally “…for I don’t know what platform” and “Good luck to all those that own that dumb game” regarding Shattered Horizon’s Firepower pack. All these sound very uneducated as if you didn’t look into them before making your comments as well as insulting to the developers and possibly their player base.
Take for instance Shattered Horizon. I personally haven’t played it yet but it looks incredible and I inch closer and closer to buying it with every screenshot and video I see. I’m sure if you had read about it or saw footage of it you would not have called it dumb, even jokingly.
